Enjoying international waters, Dan, our Director and Sara visited EICMA in Milan for the fourth consecutive year last month.
The International Motorcycle and Accessories Exhibition is the most important trade fair event for the entire 2-wheel sector (or so they say) taking place in Milan since 1914, and is the most highly attended event in the world by number of exhibitors, visitors, operators and press internationally.
Returning to the show for 2019 as visitors, Danny and Sara took the opportunity to explore the updated technologies, emerging brands and 2020 designs offered by many of current stockists.
“The LS2 stand was the stand out exhibition by far,” said Sara. “Every single helmet from their entire range was on display in a visually appealing way, including the new 2020 range.
“For us as dealers, it was great to be able to look and touch each piece whilst being able to ask a lot of questions as the stand was well manned by staff ready to help you with any queries.”
With an increasing percentage of the show being dedicated to EV, it was hard not to admire the stands. Commenting, Danny said: “A much larger amount of companies are bringing electric models into the market, with more new brands and new innovation.
“Emula really stood out as a clever concept, with a piece of technology to get the sound of motorbikes into the electric market.”
Browsing the show for items to stock at our Newmarket based showroom, there were plenty of stands to consider. A range from Brixton Motorcycles caught the eye of Sara, whilst the footwear range from Gaerne may well be appearing on our shelves soon.
Already looking forward to the trip next year, it was great to see the show continuing to grow. Always amazed by the sheer size and variety on offer, with over 9 halls to see along with outside areas, it offers something for every component of motorcycling.
Many manufacturers use the show to launch new models or products, so a trip gives a true insight into products and trends coming our way. It’s also a great chance to catch up with suppliers and even customers to see what their thoughts are on the year ahead. A trip well worth it.
